Count your Blessings - It has truly been a blessing to have met so many wonderful people from different countries and backgrounds all these years! You see, it really is a big world and yet our paths crossed, thousand of miles.

Here are some of the snippets from a recent surprise proposal shoot at my clients' favourite spots in Hong Kong, The Big Buddha. Quite a few last minute changes due to a huge flight delay but everything worked out in the end - even added a thrill to it!

Congratulations to @grooms2be on their engagement! Have fun planning your wedding back home in Amsterdam! Come back to Hong Kong for another visit soon!!

Marriage Proposal In Hong Kong. Sunset. Instagram Pier.

Few days ago, I blogged about my first and most memorable shoot. Today, I would like to blog about my favourite shoot of all time (another throwback!). I am honoured to be given the important task to photograph Doug's Surprise Proposal here in Hong Kong. Photographing surprise proposal is my absolute favourite thing to do. Nerve-wracking yet very fulfilling! When Doug came to me, he already had a location in mind, Shek Tong Tsui Cargo Pier a.k.a. Instagram Pier, where he and Witty enjoy taking a stroll there. The marriage proposal would be taken place just slightly before sunset . I always have a thing photographing sunset which I think it is the most beautiful time of the day - What a perfect time to propose! After running through the details with Doug, I did several test shots at the Pier before the proposal day to ensure everything is in good order. On the day of the marriage proposal, I had the big bunch of flowers, champagne and flutes hidden in one of the wooden crates near the proposal spot. Everything went swimmingly, the weather and the light were perfect. And yes, she said Yes! Seeing my clients so happy is one of the reasons why I keep doing what I am doing. Being a paparazzi ninja was challenging yet worthy! The Engagement Session after was sweet. Congratulations Doug and Witty! And Thank You Doug for putting your trust on me! Special shout out to Wesley and Wil for your help and support, I will never forget it.

Surprise Proposal. In the Fog. Hong Kong Skyline.

Sam from London contacted me 4 months before his marriage proposal took place. The couple would be flying to Hong Kong for holiday and Sam wanted to propose to Nat during their time in Hong Kong. Sam already had a brilliant proposal idea in mind but getting the execution part done was not easy due to the venue’s restrictions and policies. Constant changes were made to the plan just to get the approval during those 4 months. Just when we thought we came up with a win-win plan, weather was not on our side. It was too foggy that the helicopter service was likely to be cancelled. We had to come up with another plan one day before the proposal. That's probably our Plan no.110. Finally, the surprise proposal went on swimmingly on the day! Most importantly, Nat and Sam are very happy!!!

Changes are not always bad. You may lose something good but you may gain something better! The more I experience changes, the less fear I have when it comes to handling situations in life. The main takeaway for me from this, when all doors shut on you, check the window. Having your plans changed or rejected numerous times might be daunting but don't stress about the closed doors behind you and don't give up, eat the changes as if it's your breakfast. It only makes you stronger!

Thank you very much Sam for the trust and patience! Big Congratulations to this beautiful couple for the beginning of your new life chapter together!
